The world is shifting—so too must men. We confront these changes daily, and it's time we start talking about them.
Men aren’t expected to cry, to feel deeply, or even to admit when they're overwhelmed. Traditional masculinity has shackled us to a mold we didn’t choose and don’t need to keep. We're witnessing an era where women are rising in leadership by tapping into their masculine sides, and men are starting to explore traits like empathy and emotional competence. What happens when we break free from the 'stiff upper lip'? How can embracing our more feminine traits lead to richer, more fulfilling lives?
"The ‘stiff upper lip’ mentality is outdated and harmful to mental health. It's essential for men to access qualities like love, compassion, and creativity."
Neither our fathers nor grandfathers would have shown their tears like we can today—it’s a start, but we must go further.
Work used to be the ultimate measure of a man's worth. We’d throw away personal dreams, spend countless hours burning out only to find a hollow victory at the end. It’s detrimental, and the costs span beyond physical health.
The societal norm of being the silent sufferer is killing us. It’s time we shift, rethink what it means to truly ‘provide’ and ‘protect,’ and evaluate how we build relationships, both intimate and platonic.
Questions We Ask Men:
The impact of traditional masculinity on men's health and well-being
The importance of emotional competence and empathy
Breaking societal conditioning to live more authentically
The shape we were poured into was set in the earliest years of our lives. We're inviting us all as men to break out of that shape and find new ones.
This is an inspiring moment to invite other’s to join the conversation. Together, we can reshape what it means to be a man.
