Unconventional Masculinity

Episode #6 - Embracing Masculine and Feminine Energies

The shape we were poured into was set in the earliest years of our lives. We're inviting us all as men to break out of that shape and find new ones.

We often accept the cultural mould set for us, rarely questioning if those constraints serve us anymore. What if being a “man” means more than the traditional roles handed to us? This is about tapping into aspects of ourselves that we've ignored or suppressed. We can be more than what society dictates; we can be individuals who embrace freedom, love, and even vulnerability.

I think equality is a space in which it's okay to be exactly who you are, and it's equally okay for all of us to be exactly who we are. The way we express ourselves in the world is equally valid, equally accepted, equally honoured.

It's liberating, really. Imagine not worrying about what society thinks of our actions. Growing out hair, admitting mistakes, expressing feelings—these acts may seem small but they are transformative. In owning these choices, we allow our true selves to shine. We begin to heal, to gain the wisdom that comes from living authentically.

There's a unique kind of strength in admitting we have emotions. Instead of bottling up feelings, we need to realize the power in sharing them with each other. This isn’t about weakness; it’s about creating genuine connections and understanding between us men. Saying “I’m sorry” or “I was wrong” should be seen as a sign of maturity and strength, not something to be ashamed of.

And imagination says we don't necessarily have the answers, but we can dream into what it might be like.

Questions We Ask Men:

  • What would happen if we allowed ourselves to express love freely without fearing judgment?

  • How can breaking away from traditional male roles create healthier relationships?

  • Why do we hesitate to honor both masculine and feminine energies within us?

Let’s imagine, dream, and question what it means to be men in today’s world.

It's time to find new possibilities for expression and change. Share this vision with the men in your life that may feel the same way.
